Trip Description
Pokhara, the place blessed with nature, located in Northwest Nepal. The Northwest region of Nepal is a densely vegetated flat land which stretches all the way to India. The key attraction in Pokhara is trekking to the mountains, exploring the lakes and sunrise-sunset views from Sarangkot. The one-way drive to 6-7 hrs long, hence an early start (06:00) is advisable. After exiting Kathmandu at the Nagdhunga checkpoint, the route follows the Prithvi Highway further on to Pokhara. There is plenty to see and experience on the drive; beautiful lush-green rolling hills on the other side of the river, river valleys and serpentine sculpted canyon formed by Trishuli and Seti Gandaki rivers, scattered villages and pockets of highway towns, and local produce, from vegetables to fruits to fresh fish, are sold by locals, small tea houses and eateries. Once you reach Pokhara, you might want to rest for the day following the long drive, but there is much to do at night since this is a tourist area there are many nightclubs here. After a good rest, early morning would be a great time to see the sunrise view, bat cave, Mahendra cave, explore are temples. If you are trekking person then you can go according to your itinerary but if not then explore old Pokhara, boating in the scenic Phewa Lake, explore Pama village and chill at Bejnas Lake. Highways in Nepal aren’t always top-notch so a comfortable ride is a must. We suggest a sedan for up to 3 people, an SUV/jeep for up to 6, a Hiace up to 12 and a Sutlej/coaster for more than 12.
